It was may 3rd, 2017. Sing me a story, the great nursery rhyme disaster. Little miss muffet was bored. So she decided to go be in other people’s rhymes and ends up ruining them. It was a great play. The actors were very precise and remembered all of their lines. They had to do their play 2 times- for the school and parents. They both loved it.
After the play was over, many 5th graders went to a place called Andy’s ice cream. Some people got banana splits, other chocolate concrets. They had a great time.

100 WC
I wobbled from the punch, and fell into what seemed like a endless dream. I walked around and saw my house appear out of white mist. My mom opened the window and shouted, “ Come FAST!! We got a TRAIN TO CATCH!!” and with that, I hopped in the flying car, and we traveled across many lands, to the train station. I found platform 9, and RAN THROUGH IT!!! I reached platform 9 and ¾, and I saw a big train. I hopped on, and waved as I saw my parents go by...\
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! My alarm clock, AGAIN!! no...

After the play, students started laughing and talking. They said good comments about the play. Finally, the teachers lined up the students. They walked out onto the bus and waited to leave. The noise level was high, and the students
could tell that the bus driver was ready to go home.

100 word challenge 2
I stepped outside into the fresh air, as the wind carelessly ruffled the grass. I took a few more steps, until I reached the gravel road, which would take me to my destination. I had been saving up for a present for my sister. I walked up to the antique store and gazed at the beautiful camera. The body was matt, but the rim was smooth. At first I was worried that I could not get enough cold hard cash to buy the brown camera, but I figured it out. I got the camera with just a dime left.

100 word challenge
I added the finishing touches on my beautiful glazed pot by adding chocolate bits to the inside.I placed it on a tray and entered it to the judge. Time passed. Years went by as I was waiting for the results in the waiting room. And finally the judge said- “And the winner, who took the most time, adding each detail, bit by bit.” I didn't know how long everyone else took, but I took a long time. “ Jane Rosemary!!” I was proud. I won. And so I said to my mom,
“So THAT is why I am always last!!”

Ending Our Colony Unit by Cha and Sophie
January Blog Ending The Colony Unit By: Cha Cha And Sophie
In 5th grade Barnes class, in January, a Social Studies unit was going on-a colony simulation.
“ It was the best unit yet!” said 5th grader Sophie. The colony simulation took place in Glenridge Elementary school, Mrs. Barnes class. The unit was held because people needed to learn what happened when people moved to the colonies. The simulation happened by students writing down income and loss, food and people, and things like that. Students got a chance to simulate being governor, trading, mapping, and auteder.
5B was extremely excited to Find out the colony winners everyone was shouting and having fun. The simulation happen like everyone had a sheet of paper, and they would draw fates to determine what the daily food income would be. They would go into a trading circle and make deals on trading muskets for food, horses for land, and so on. The colonist trader could trade with the natives in their region, or with other colonies.
Ms.Barnes said “Time to see who the winners are!” and so every one in 5B huddled around the smart board, and-“Drumroll, Please!” and so the class did a drumroll. In big letters, on the screen, were the words- Free Foxes!! And so she said,
“And our next unit will be the American Revolutionary WAR!!!”
The class cheered, but
Some.
Just.
Groaned.

Nov News Story by Sophie
Day Of Choirs
On Friday, November 8, fabulous things were happening in the gym- Day Of Choirs. Glenridge Elementary school was hosting PART of the event. Kids packed onto risers, after practicing week after week to perfect these songs. Glenridge audience fills in the rest of the gym, along with middle school, and the high school show choir. It was loud in the gym, especially with most of Clayton. The choir kids got ready to sing, as the music teacher silenced the gym. A song arose from the risers. Most of Clayton looked up at the singing. There was not much whispering, which was a good thing. The Glenridge choir sung 2 songs, Wydown sung a lot of songs, and the high school show choir sang 3. At the end, all of the choirs joined together and sang a song in harmony, Stand Together.
“It was exciting!” said a 5th grader Sophie, as the people exited out of the gym in a mad rush. Choire kids slowly, in an orderly fashion, stepped off the risers to find their teachers.

Sophie's News Story
The Pencil Thief
5th grade class of 5B has mysteriously Been missing mechanical pencils. Detectives (5B students), have been searching for the thief, but the pencil stealer has not been found. Nice pencils have been sitting on the edge of desks, and those pencils were the specific stolen victims. But people have been keeping pencils in there pencil bags, and results show that the pencil thief is not yet brave enough to go search for the well- protected pencils deep in the desks. 5th grader Sophie interviews a few people- “Macy, please tell me, have you had any of your pencils stolen so far?” she asks Macy, a fellow classmate of hers. “Yes, Sophie, I have had a few nice pencils stolen. How did you know?!!?!” Said macy. “Well,” Said Sophie,” I have been asking others- at least 65% of the people I asked have been stolen from! But that’s not all. Even I have been stolen from!”
And so detectives continued searching. But up to this day, the Thief has not been found. Have you been Robbed by a Pencil thief? Well, I have. Trust me, ya don’t want to be.
