On April 21 2017 5th grade had a character banquet. It happened in the glenridge cafeteria, they talked about our characters and at food. 5th grade did a fantasy unit in reading so the teachers decided to do this event. The teachers planned this

Evan said “I did not like it.” Breyanna and Sage  said “I liked the food. Macy said “I had a lot of fun” Liam F said “It was a fun way to learn about others fantasy books. They have different feelings about this event.

It's magic out here in the world surprises happen all the time especially for these two girls. Parents. We all love them right but in these two girls situations  not so much. You see parents can turn your magic off and on until you are 18. And these two girls did not see this coming.

Rory and Emily were two magic twins just walking thro a wall one day wich magic people do. They were 17 Their birthday coming up soon all of a sudden they are stuck in a wall ! Someone had to come rescue them.

Some of the 5th graders at glenridge elementary school got to go to a Mark Twain party because they read 4 or more books that were Mark Twain nominees. This happened on March 13 2017. The library teachers planned this for them.

First the kids talked about what they read and their favorite book. Then they had a battle of the books when they got into groups to see who knew the books the best. Then they went to the cafeteria and got a snack and got to chat.

Some people had a very good time others maybe not so much. But Most peoples stand it was pretty fun.

Lights Camera Action. A beautiful girl was trying out for a role to be  belle in a movie. Her hair was brown the right color she thought that this is her time to shine!! She was worried tho She had to read and act out loud it was really hard. She tried out and got the part. She was happy.

This is a story about lily and she is last in about almost everything. Its sad. It's like her catchphrase is “so that is why I am always last.” But this time its her time to shine. Lily wants to win this reading competition she will be the fastest reader their! She practices until it is time for the competition.  Hopes are high she has practiced in front of many people. But the person before her is really really fast she loses her hope. Once she starts reading she gets faster. She wins the competition  her and family are proud.

The 5th grade play is the great nursery rhyme disaster. 5B is super excited. Every year the fifth grade does a play. The play will take place in may. 5B has been working really hard.

The great nursery rhyme disaster is a play about little miss muffet getting tired of getting scared of that spider she goes of to the other pages of the book and she goes into other rhymes.

5B is trying out parts and working on their songs they try really hard to get it on their first try.

In 5th grade Barnes class, in January, a Social Studies unit was going on-a colony simulation.

“ It was the best unit yet!” said 5th grader Sophie. The colony simulation took place in Glenridge Elementary school, Mrs. Barnes class.  The unit was held because people needed to learn what happened when people moved to the colonies. The simulation happened by students writing down income and loss, food and people, and things like that. Students got a chance to simulate being governor, trading, mapping, and auteder.

5B was extremely excited to Find out the colony winners everyone was shouting and having fun.  The simulation happen like everyone had a sheet of paper, and they would draw fates to determine what the daily food income would be.  They would go into a trading circle and make deals  on trading muskets for food, horses for land, and so on. The colonist trader could trade with the natives in their region,  or with other  colonies.

Ms.Barnes said “Time to see who the winners are!”  and so  every one in 5B  huddled around the smart board, and-“Drumroll, Please!” and so the class did a drumroll.  In big letters, on the screen, were the words- Free Foxes!! And so she said,

“And our next unit will be the American Revolutionary WAR!!!”

The class cheered, but

Some.

Just.

Groaned.

Pizza Party November Blog

“Woho” its 5 B's pizza party in November. 5B got this because they won a teamwork celebration. 5B was so excited for lunch that day. They all went out for recess.They swing on swings and slid down slides.

Until the bell rung and it was time to go inside. So they lined up outside the gate until it was time to eat.

Sage said “Their were not enough cheeto puffs.”

Stella said “I am sad that we did not get to finish the movie but we got to eat pizza and cupcakes.”

Sara says “I found it fun and interesting and liked the movie.”

5B went inside up to their classroom got their pizza got there soda got their cupcakes and cookies. Sat down at their desks.

Mrs.Barnes said “sit down kids we will be watching a movie called National Treasure.”They watched the movie and they did not get to finish it.  Maybe in the feature they will get another party like this.  

Unity Day By Cha Cha

Unity Day

Unity day is a day when we stand together to prevent bullying. This day is on October 19th every year. The world like to do this so that people who get bullied can stand up for themselves and know how to take care of themselves. Also others can stand up for them too. The bully can also learn a lesson from this  day. Maybe the bully is not intensely bullying but maybe on this day they can realize that they are hurting someone else. Other people think this. Sophie says “bullies won’t listen about unity day because they do what they want to do. Christian says, ”Two thumbs up!” Macy says, ”It is fun.” And who would not like unity day. This shows how people want to help stop the bullying. In the future we can stand up for bullying and help even more.

  Remember when crash went to jane’s party ya that's because they were dating and to this day they still are… 15 years later crash got down on one knee wow let's “scoot” back a little bit. Earlier that day “how am I going to propose to jane I will take her on a perfect picnic,I better go pic her up now”. Ten minutes later crash asked jane if she was ready. They get in the car and they are off. He said let's get out of the car before we eat I need to ask you something. Crash got down on one “will you marry me?” “YES” jane excitedly screamed. Let's talk a little about penn and abby. Crash and penn to this day are still best friends. And penn and abby are obviously dating. You ask me what happen to mike deluca he is on tour how did he become a singer I don't even know. And scotter can talk. And that's their story.

Cha Cha’s little brother Chase thinks he is an innocent little boy ………. But is he. This happened most of Cha Cha’s life Chase says “I am never mean”. Some people might agree some might not.

Eliot says “he is nice” sage says  “annoying but usually nice” Ava says  “terrible but sometimes nice” Finn says “annoying annoying” Macy said  “He chucked footballs at my face and locked me in the bathroom”. So this tells you that people have different opinions some people like him some don't and that is ok now all we can do is wait and see. What does futcher bring nice evil ok anything can happen.
