On april 20th 5B was trying something new, for the first time they were doing breakout EDU. as Mrs.Barnes separated us into small groups they got hard to work. Break out was challenging and fun at the same time trying to break in boxes and bag. Break out gave us clues and we had to use those clues to help us open the boxes. Cece said she thought it was fun, Liam said it was a good way to refresh are minds on revolutionary war. Overall 5B had a fun and challenging day break out.

Once there was a bob and a jeff , bob and jeff are very good friends and what made their friendship so special was it was a magic friendship and their powers was walking through walls. But one day when jeff and bob were walking through the wall they got trapped in the wall and  there are still trapped in the wall today. Bob and Jeff can only get out from the magic book and thanks to someone with the magic book. Hopeful bob and jeff get out of the wall they get out is going to be a big adventure.

 One day when sophie and cha cha went to the zoo and cha cha brought a camera and then sophie stoll the camera and tock a picture of a beautiful cute brown panda and and cha cha was worried that sophie would drop the camera so she took it away. As they moved on to the next exhibit and say monkeys that were hanging upside down cha cha really wanted to join them and hang upside down. Sophie and cha cha had a very good and fun day at the zoo and can't wait to go again.

On March 17, 2017 Ms. Kelton announced the  musical parts for the fifth grade play. The fifth graders were anxious to see what part they got. They gathered in Ms. Skitino’s room for the announcement. Ms Kelton announced each part and the individual that would be playing that part. All of the kids were excited about their assigned parts. Macy said “I am very excited about performing with her friends. Sophie says “Happy” sara said “I was a bit surprised but I am happy that I  can be in the musical. Over all I 5th grade had a good day and are excited to be in the play.

I could feel the wind brushing against my face i was so close and then it happened she tripped me and i went from first place to 8th and this is why i am always last because of her. It is like she is a big shadow that rises over me and can't let the sun shine through. She makes sure i always lose no matter what the consequences are. This is what i have had to live with for 3 years and the only reason she dose this is because of the last championships that comes every 4 years.

Art Class

Clay Coil

On Wednesday February 22, 2017 5B had a fun day of art coming ahead of them. When 5B sat down introduced us to clay coil. She showed us a few pictures of clay coils. She showed us a demonstration of the structure. Then the class got to work we twisted and slipped and built are structure. Ava stated that I loved it because I made a bowl that and it turned out great and I love doing the clay. I did not like the way my coil turned out but I had a lot of fun. It was a very interesting art day from finishing MLK poster and building are clay coils. Overall I think we can say that a very fun day of art and I’m sure that Mrs.Oliver (art teacher) can agree with us.

Fifth Grade Trip

5th Grade Ski Trip

It was January 12, 2017. The bus drove into the Hidden Ski Valley parking lot. 5th grade classes from Glenridge Elementary School and Captain Elementary School were going skiing. The schools were going because of their annual P.E. field trip that they went on every year. Some of the kids were very nervous while others were as excited as they ever had been.  

First, they got their skis and boots. Then, they went outside for ski school. When they were done with ski school they got to ski wherever they wanted to. Some went to the chairlift while others went to the rope tow. Some even went to the Black Diamond! After a little while they got called in to lunch. They got their lunch and sat down with friends to talk about skiing and other things. Once lunch was over everyone went back outside to ski. Ski school closed so everyone was free to do what they wanted. Some people went in pairs, some people went in groups and some people went by themselves. “ It was really fun!” says Madeline. At the end of the day when everyone was getting back on the bus they were all exhausted. But that did not stop them from talking… talking and singing the whole way home.

  Slide Shock

It was November 18, 2016. Fall was starting to become winter. As half of the 5th grade gathered around the slim green slide they formed a great big circle.  It was like no one could get past. As everyone joined hands, someone climbed up a huge boulder so they could get to the slide. Then they stopped dead in their tracks to get a good momentum to go down the slide and gain static electricity, and reached out to transfer the electricity to the first person in the circle traveling at the speed of light!!!

Ian go with Macy Mr.Hutson announced,Macy really did not what to do this but she had to. This is why she did not like the 1 week of October.Miss.Miller said rows one and three go get scarfs and rows two and four go get cubes. Macy had to wait a while because the they ran out.Mrs.Miller turned on the music and Macy stared juggling the scarfs.She did the scarfs for a whole two minutes.Ian and Macy switched she was really bad at juggling the cubes.Mrs.Miller told the 5B to do partner juggling.Ian picked up the cubes and stared juggling.All of a sudden he throw a cube to Macy while he was still juggling the other two.Then Macy throw one back to him and he throw a mother one to her.They kept the same pattern for a long time.Macy tropes it a few times but they did a good job.It was like Macy and Ian were circus clowns.Ian clarified that Macy was good at juggling and he had a lot of fun.Macy said she had a awesome day!!!

WIFI Gets Destroyed  

On September 19,2016 one unlucky brother gets blamed for destroying the WIFI. My grandparents were watching the football game and a 11 year old girl was doing her homework. Then all of a sudden the TV went black and a computer lost the WIFI signal. And then  heard someone’s grandparents yelling to the TV NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! A few minutes later a mother had to call a girl’s dad to come pick her up and do her homework there and spend the night with him. When she got in his car she told him that she destroyed the WIFI so she could see him because he has been crying about the divorce a lot. But she didn't mean to make almost all the appliances in the house go black or lose their single. Her dad laughed a lot when she told him this. And when she finished telling him this she heard her mom yelling at her brother that he can't touch the WIFI.
